Ibri is a big, quite township of about 93 thousand people, located in the north‐west of the Sultanate of Oman. As its Arabic name suggests, it long served as a strategic connection point on the trade routes to the east and west alike. It is three hours drive from the capital city of Muscat and only one hour from the borders with the United Arab Emirates and the eastern border of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the Omani cities of Nizwa and Sohar.
