Maintain and broaden the Student Information System (SIS) and to ensure its effectiveness and confidentiality.

To define the rules, laws and regulations of the academic faculties through lectures, pamphlets and brochures for the faculty members and students.

Assist students in the completion of graduation requirements in the time period set through the creation of strategies to solve problems that may impede their path, especially students who are under academic observation.
Functions
New students:
Organize and coordinate students admitted at the beginning of each academic year. Create records for new students and file all relevant documentation. Distribute students into a group according to their entrance exam results. Participate in the preparation of the student card. Advise students and parents regarding tuition and housing. Assist in Orientation Week through special lectures, brochures and pamphlets regarding regulations, and a brief introduction about the department and the tasks undertaken by the staff. Follow-up with students who are withdrawals or drop-outs. After initial registration, as well as after withdrawals and drop-outs, a list of student names is provided to the Finance Department, the Department of Student Affairs and the Learning Resource Center.
Registration:
Review the plans and programs for all disciplines to compile the courses that would be offered by each academic department, send to departments for verification and then allocate the hours to faculty members. Announce the date(s) and procedures of the registration process to the students. Follow regulations regarding registration, withdrawals and drop-outs. Conclude registration in terms of assessing the number of students attending the school and evaluate the previous requirements of returning students.
Preparation of Schedules:
Prepare the academic timetables for teachers, halls and laboratories. Resolve and amend any conflicts that occur as a result of the schedules. Prepare distribution lists and handle the distribution of absence records. Preparation of final exam schedules.
Academic Guidance:
Distribute student names to teachers acting as Academic Advisors. Monitor grades and study plans to identify students that should be under academic observation and alter their schedules accordingly. Examine strategies for the success of the academic guidance and to ensure all students graduate on time.
Final Grades and GPAs (Grade Point Average):
Grades are calculated quarterly and cumulative GPAs are determined. The department receives the final grades automatically at the end of each semester and handles them accordingly. Statistics and reports on the final grades are prepared. Determine the number of failures and students under academic observation. Inform students and staff of the final results. Ensure students have met the requirements of graduation. Prepare lists of graduates. Prepare lists of outstanding students (the top 10% of students).
General Functions:
Follow-up on cases of withdrawal from the college, transfers between colleges, change of major, etc. Follow-up on queries and provide appropriate answers. Follow-up on changes in the regulations, plans and programs. Follow-up on absences and implement the regulations accordingly.
