puzzle-lgRESEARCH CAN BE FUN AND FRIENDLY

Understandably we are all generally capable of doing research, not only because as humans we are always curious of things around us, but most importantly it is our daily academic activities that should insight us to explore more within our respective disciplines. Our investigation can either be technical and technologically biased in approach, or through the parameter of management sciences and also subjects pertaining to the aesthetics or social sciences.   In the current modern and advanced era, knowledge progresses and research prolongs in areas and dimensions never even thought before. In most educational institutions, where research activities are often considered mandatory, findings have shown that such a positive academe situation enhances knowledge which will undoubtedly benefit teaching and learning situations.

Ibri College of Applied Sciences through the strategic planning scheme which was endorsed by the Ministry of Higher Education will seriously embark on and encourage research activities among the faculty members. A Research Committee was formed chaired by Professor. Dr. Muhamad Tamyez Bajuri, the members of which are…

Some text extracted from 'Research Proposal Ideas' by eHOW
It is important to note that in order to get a grant for a research project, or to begin a research project for an academic program, it is first necessary to submit a research proposal. The research proposal will explain what you would like to do, and why. There are several formats that you might follow, depending on the requirements of your program. However, it is also important to look at various ideas when it comes to how to formulate your research proposal.

These ideas will give you a jump start on coming up with a proposal that will be appropriate and possible acceptance. Please use the research form available, as one can submit them online through the college Web.

A Question
All research should revolve around a question. So, one idea when it comes to a research proposal is to formulate it as if you are asking a question. Begin the proposal with the question that you would like to answer, such as "Does AZT affect the time frame in which HIV turns into AIDS?" Then, in your proposal, outline how your research is going to help you figure out the effect on the time frame. Outline which sources you would like to use to help you answer your question. Detail any research or experimenting you'll do to come up with your own data. Explain how you plan to present your answer, and what your findings might mean for research in general.

An Experiment
Another idea for a research proposal is an experiment. It is not the same as the typical student experiment, but it follows the same principle. For this proposal idea, you will begin with an experimental idea. For instance, you might decide to research "What happens when water is introduced to a vacuum in space." After you have listed the experimental idea you will then list the procedure to figure it out--whether it is through research conducted in books or using the Internet, or through your own experiments. More likely, your procedure will include both types of research. End by explaining in your proposal how you will use and display the answers you find, and what your research will mean to the world at large.

In-Depth Research
Another proposal idea for a research project is to undertake an in-depth study of a particular subject. For this type of proposal, you'll start with the topic you would like to delve into--whether it is Shakespeare's works, the history of Italy, or any number of other in depth studies. Then, in your proposal, discuss how you plan on researching the topic, and what you plan on doing with the results.

IMPORTANT NOTE
Please kindly be aware that it is advisable for any research proposal be based on certain selected aspects of the Omani environment and situational belongings, culture etc particularly in relation to the progress of the nation. It is thus our obligation to dart our investigation within such a scope and focusing also on findings which are applied and applicable in nature.
The committee is also currently collecting past research papers done by the faculty members to be compiled into an academic journal. All academic writings to be submitted must not be more than three years since the time of writing or presentation. Even though the submission of the research proposal and writings is continuous, June the 1st 2010 will be the dateline for the first compiled edition for journal and evaluation of research proposal.  A Research Symposium is also planned before the end of 2010 to present the papers submitted for the journal.

Thanking you in advance and happy researching and together we strive for excellence through knowledge exploration. Please also kindly do not hesitate to make comments and positive suggestion to upgrade the research activities within the college and such ideas can be sent online to the committee.
